FAIR & BALANCED

REALLY? 'Gimme a break' - puleeze!

While much of what passes for news in the mainstream media these days amounts generally to little more than warmed-over State propaganda mixed in with public relations spin for large corporations, all stirred together with the latest scandals out of Hollywood, Washington or the sporting arena, the folks at Fox News epitomize the worst of the media woes. Indeed, if journalistic/editorial bias were an Olympic sport, this network would easily occupy all three places on the podium. And as more and more people awaken to the need for getting past the froth onto the real meat of today's happenings, the trend grows ever stronger for more Internet Gains on Television as Public’s Main News Source.

Remember this guy? Looks kinda familiar - doesn't he? Well, for those with short memories, he was the Minister of Information Dis-Information during the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq. Affectionately referred to as Baghdad Bob after his outlandish attempts to spin the news to present an 'alternate' view of reality for the benefit of the world press, he instead managed only to provide comic relief from the otherwise deadly reporting of Operation 'Shock and Awe'. Out of a job after the war he became a talking head for Abu Dhabi TV! Barring his thick Middle Eastern accent though, he would have slotted in quite comfortably at the self-styled Fair & Balanced network, whose shenanigans will without a doubt be reflected upon with similarly comic sentiments in the sobering fullness of time. (BTW, clicking on photo will bring up a site that includes many of his classic hilarious statements)
