Technology is now such an integral part of modern life - we simply cannot imagine life without it! Since Y2K, we have seen the advent of just about everything being connected to the world-wide web, from computers and cellphones to cars, homes and even appliances - all for our greater convenience. Stores now almost universally rely on bar coding items for ease of tracking and for inventory control, while over the last decade it has become common to keep track of our pets using microchip devices. Recent advances in miniaturization have made it possible to include all of someone's medical history onto a microchip, which can now be safely inserted under the skin for scanning by medical personnel following any emergency, saving lives, or for tracking down an Alzheimer's patient who wanders off!
As wonderful as this all sounds, we must remove our rose-tinted spectacles for a dose of cold reality! The very control that businesses now obtain over RFID-chipped inventory and we get over our things by having them hooked to an electronic tether is now available to States for the first time in history! To believe that such awesome power would only be used 'for the good of all' rather than to subjugate and control the masses is to live in the same fool's paradise as the inventors of the atom bomb, who learned to their everlasting chagrin that this powerful tool would kill and maim countless thousands! Like so many pieces of warehoused inventory, a future human population will fall under the absolute control of an all-powerful - but not necessarily beneficent - totalitarian system of world government!
Such a future time was indeed foretold by Scripture for the end-times - it is now technically feasible! Under the guise of combating the 'evil' of money laundering, governments have now begun making it harder to conduct large transactions in cash (using mandatory reporting of 'suspicious' transactions), crossing borders carrying large amounts of cash (via enforced declarations) and paying for relatively minor purchases using cash has been classified as 'terrorist'-type activity - reportable by businesses!
Governments abhor each and every activity which they are unable to either control - or tax to death! It should therefore be seen as only a matter of time before this prophesied maneuver by the biblical Wild Beast becomes part of our unfortunate reality. Many will be misled into thinking that this action will only be to the benefit of humanity - choosing to don their 'rosy glasses' to see only the beneficial outcomes and decrying the 'alarmists' who see it for the tool of oppression it will in the end become!
Imagine a future where no one is able to buy or sell without having the approved 'mark of the beast'! Now imagine that any individual dares to say or do something that fails to meet with the approval of the rulers - that person can simply have their chip switched off and so starve until they 'toe the line'!
Recent advances have seen the development of an electronic tattoo - obviating need for an implant! For the first time it is now feasible and relatively inexpensive to electronically tag large populations. As fiat money fails worldwide, States will come together to impose an electronic 'solution' - bet on it!
